Artist Description Flutist, Composer, Teacher
As a flutist, Bonnie performs concerts and provides music for special events throughout the Boston area. From solo flute to ensembles with harp, orchestral strings and classical guitar, Bonnie's repertoire includes a wide range of elegant classical and contemporary music.
Bonnie L. Cochran performs regularly throughout the Boston area and has performed with The Amaryllis Chamber Ensemble, Willow Flute Ensemble, Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra, Metrowest Symphony, the National Flute Association (NFA) Professional Flute Choir and the Harvard Square Chamber Orchestra among others. Most recently, Bonnie was a 2004 winner of the NFA's Convention Performer Competition, where she performed the newly rediscovered CPE Bach Concerto in D Major. In the past few years, Bonnie performed as a soloist on a recital series at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2000 and 2001), at the NFA Flute Convention (2002) and released a CD (2000) with the Willow Flute Ensemble. Her primary teachers have included Linda Toote, Elinor Preble and Paul Brittan, and she has performed in masterclasses with Keith Underwood, Susan Glaser, Judith Lang Zaimont and Laura Barron. Bonnie holds a MM in Flute Performance and a BA in Music. In addition, Bonnie teaches private flute lessons and enjoys composing music. She has studied composition with Ronald Byrnside, Larry Bell, John Clement Adams and John Heiss. |
