The American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada (AFM) is the largest organization of its type in the world. It represents nearly 100,000 members that are serviced by more than 230 Locals in every geographical area of North America. AFM musicians perform all kinds of music for all kinds of events.

Whether it's live entertainment for a wedding, corporate event, concert, fair, night club, or ANY other function, insist on the quality and professionalism that only AFM members can deliver. Members use industry standard AFM approved contracts to clearly define the terms of the engagement. An AFM contract is your guarantee that you will get the music you want at the price, date and time you want it. Once signed, the AFM musician is obligated to honor the contract and so is the purchaser. It's truly a "win win" situation!

It's the most direct method of locating and contacting quality AFM members. Detailed information is contained in each GoPro listing making it easy to choose the perfect entertainment for your next function. Simply contact your choice to receive a quote or check the availability of the musician/group.The GoPro site will continue to grow at a rapid pace as more and more AFM members develop a Web presence. (2) The AFM Locals Directory: (External Link)

There's an office of the AFM in or near your community that is staffed by professionals that really know the member talent in their areas. They offer booking and/or referral services and would be pleased to receive your request for assistance. (3) The AFM Agents Directory: (External Link)

These approved Agents are signatories to the AFM's Booking Agent Agreement. They act as the "sales force" for AFM members in the US and Canada. Purchasers are provided with legitimate agreements, members are provided with protection of their earnings, and the Agents earn commissions for their sales. Is there any cost related to the use of GoPro?

Do I need to be a registered user of GoPro to access all the features the service provides?

No. Only artists/groups that wish to offer their services are required to register. This ensures that only professional AFM members appear on our service. As a potential buyer of live entertainment, you have full and unlimited access to GoPro services.

How far in advance of the actual date should a group or solo performer be contracted?

As early as possible. Many musicians are booked as much as a year in advance of the actual performance date. This is especially true with wedding entertainment. Book early!

What if I can’t get my first choice of musicians?

With over 100,000 professional musicians located in over 250 Locals throughout the U.S. and Canada, we can help you find musicians equal to your first choice. If the musician or group you want is already booked, the AFM Local in your area will be happy to recommend several suitable alternatives.

How much will the group or solo artist cost?

The cost will vary. The exact amount will depend on the number of performers, the length of the performance (usually 3 or 4 hours), the occasion, and the popularity of the musician(s). Live music is cost effective and makes every event special.

Can I hear a soloist or group before signing a contract?

Yes. The soloist or leader of the group will tell you when and where you may hear a live performance if you wish. Many GoPro listings contain on-line sound samples to help you decide. Most musicians will also make CD's/tapes available if requested by the client. Some AFM Locals have audio and/or videotape libraries of musicians' performances available for listening/viewing.

How can I be sure the musician(s) won’t back out at the last minute?

All you have to do is sign an official AFM contract, which will be furnished to you by the soloist, leader or their representative. Both the purchaser and musician must sign the contract to make it binding. An AFM contract is your guarantee that you will get the music you want at the date and time you want it. Once signed, the AFM musician is obligated to honor the contract and so is the purchaser.

What's so special about an AFM contract?

A signed AFM contract is "peace of mind" insurance for both the purchaser and the musician. You know you're getting the highest quality live entertainment available and that the AFM contract is your guaranty of satisfaction. Even if a non-union musician or DJ offers a contract, there is no organization or trade association monitoring their activities.

What if I sign a contract and then find that I have to cancel my party or event?

A cancellation clause may be added to any AFM contract. This clause allows you to cancel the engagement with sufficient advance notice (agreed upon by both you and the musicians). This way, you don't get stuck and neither do the musicians.
